Well, I think the best place to start with my new blog is to say Hi & welcome. Thank you for taking the time to come and visit my website and I really hope you enjoy all the things I’m hoping to share with you as I begin building my new business.
I guess a good place to start is with a little about me and my background and how I came to founding my aesthetics business. Ok so let’s start right back at the beginning.
I always wanted to work in the beauty industry, I’ve loved makeup since day dot! Always being told off at school and getting into trouble for wearing makeup to school and painting my nails in class. So, at the tender age of 16 I left senior school and headed up to central London to join one of the top colleges for beauty therapy, the London College of Fashion. At the time I didn’t realise how nervous my parents were about me commuting to central London everyday but I was absolutely over the moon to have been accepted. And that is where I spent the next 5 years studying. At the time I didn’t realise I’d stay so long, as my original BTEC National Diploma in Applied Science & Beauty Therapy was only 2 years. But having spent 5 years at senior school pretty bored and uninspired I absolutely thrived here. As I got deeper and deeper into the world of anatomy and physics, I found myself falling in love with this incredible industry. So, from there I stayed to complete my Foundation Degree in Health & Holistic Therapies. By the time I finished this course the college had obtained university status and was now known as the University of The Arts London, and with that they created a final year for my degree.
Little did I know that later on in my career I would be back in a professional manner speaking with students on this exact course.
So that was it 5 years later & I’m leaving with a BSc (hons) Beauty & Spa Management degree. Who would have even thought it!
So now I’m 21 and off on my next chapter, and that was to head out to sea and work on the cruise ships. After an intense training course at the Steiner Academy, I flew out to Singapore to join my ship as their La Therapie Facial Esthiatican. So, for the next 9 months I was away travelling the globe through Asia , Australasia , the Middle East and the Mediterranean and performing facial after facial after facial after facial. One of the most incredible experiences of my life, and it definitely gave me the travelling bug and once my contract ended, I was off again. With my backpack full and passport in my hand off I went for the next 12 months. Mostly exploring and moving about, but I did settle for 6 months in Sydney & landed myself a job in a beauty clinic in Sydney’s central business district. I loved it and I loved the girls I worked with.
Eventually I went home; so now I’m 23 and back at my parents & back at my old salon job from when I was at uni. Right time to get serious. I applied for a role with the International Institute of Anti Ageing (iiaa) as their southeast Account Manager. And this is we’re I have spent the last 12 years of my career. Never did I realise that when I walked into that training room in North London would I be starting a love affair with skin health. It’s here that I really found my passion. My love for skin and all things Vitamin A was born here. I spent 5 years working closely with accounts across the south east and London, ensuring they were able to create fantastic results for their clients. I also spent some time working in education and was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with colleges and universities across the UK, introducing them to these incredible brands. I loved seeing the students’ faces when we would demonstrate before and after pictures and they saw the types of skin concerns, and skin transformations we were able to help achieve. It was here that I went back to the University of The Arts London and performed demonstrations and workshops for the students who were taking the very course I had been the pilot for nearly 15 years ago.
Then in 2019 I became a mum to my little girl, and decided it was time for a change in my career. I wanted a better work life balance and I wanted to be back hands on with my own clients. So, in the middle of the pandemic my husband remodels our home and builds me my own clinic.
So that’s me,18 years’ experience in an industry that I adore.
I want to take my clients on a journey to skin health and help you enhance your own natural beauty. You’ll notice that all my treatments are building on your own beauty, no extensions, no falsies, or similar.
I ‘ll be uploading blogs each month, and I hope you find some time to join me on this journey as I educate and inspire you to reach your optimum skin health.
